Once again I have returned. I have some problems that I would appreciate some help on, if possible.

1) Solve the proportion: 4/ (x + 1) = 3/ (x + 2)

2) Solve the proportion: x/ (x + 3) = (x - 2) /x

3) Divide x^2 + 3x - 18 by x - 3. (I haven't done long division since 5th grade.....)

4) Solve the equation: 1/3 + 2/x = 3/x

5) Solve the equation: 2/5 - 3/x = 1/ (5x)

6) Solve the equation: 3/ (x + 1) - 1/x = 1/2

I apologize for the fact that I appear to be missing a few brain cells. I understand the solutions are probably quite easy to acquire, but I am just having trouble wrapping my head around all this. Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

I'mAPerson:

1) Solve the proportion: 4/ (x + 1) = 3/ (x + 2)

[input]4/ (x + 1) = 3/ (x + 2)[/input]

4/ (x + 1) = 3/ (x + 2)
* (x+1)
(4*(x + 1))/ (x + 1) = ((x + 1)*3)/ (x + 2)
4 = 3*(x + 1) / (x+2)
* (x+2)
4*(x+2) = 3*(x + 1)
4x+4*2 = 3*x+1*3
4x+8 = 3*x+3
- (3*x+3)
4x+8 - (3*x+3) = 0
4x+8 - 3x-3 = 0
x+5 = 0
-5
x=-5

Just cross multiply them, it's simple.
