Since you just posted this I will assume that you are not too far away
please answer these for me, I want to know what you can do.

1) 4(3x-6)
2) -2(x-5)
and
3) 5-3(2x-4)
4) -(x+6)

It may look intimidating, But it's only distribution! My Algebra 1 teacher called this the RAINBOW of Algebra, because when we distributed the numbers, we drew arrows and made it look. Well like a rainbow! Let me explain it the best I can.
First of all. Take care of all of the negatives and apply them into what is inside of the parenthesis. Since the problem is 4-(3x+2)=1-(5-7h) , By looking at the outside of the parenthesis, we see that both of them have a - symbol in front of them. We would then change the first half of the equation to 4(-3x+-2) and the second half to 1(-5+7h). If you didn't know already, two negatives make a positive. Hints why things that were already negative turned positive. Now that we've distributed the -, we can move onto the 4.
This is where multiplication skills come in handy!
(This is where we begin to rainbow. See attached.)
Take the four, and multiply it to everything inside the parenthesis. You should end up with (-12x-8)
Now the other side, taking the one and distributing it to the (-5+7h). You should get (-5+7h)
Now you have what looks like -12x-8=-5+7h
If you need to know how to do the rest, repost the question in the simple form. Hope I helped. Good luck.
P.S. I LOOOVVVEEE POKEMON! SOUL SILVER IS MY FAVORITE

Hi Chickoritalove,
I am glad that you tried to answer this question so fully.

You started out good but then you got lost.
There is no multiply by 4 here! (the 4 is added, there is an invisable + in front of it.)
I'll show you what you were trying to do

4-(3x+2)
= +4+ -1(3x+2)
=4+ -3x-2 (You did change the signs properly)
=4-2-3x
=2-3x

The other side has a similar mistake.
