I just did a stack of work for this question before I realised how simple it is.

You can factorise the 2x straight out of the bracket. then you can just cancel the 2x, top and bottom and there is your answer.

(4x^5+3x^3-2x^2) / (2x)

=2x(2x 4+(3/2)x 2-x) / (2x)

= 2x 4+(3/2)x 2-x
