f(x) = 2x^2 +3x and g(x) = 5x^2 -2x-6

(f + g) (x)  means   f(x) + g(x)  =  [ 2x^2 + 3x ] + [ 5x^2 - 2x - 6 ]  =  7x^2 + x - 6
