Trans truck gets very poor mileage. if Tran pays $84 to fill his truck with gas and is able to drive m miles on a full tank, what expression shows his gas coast per mile?
His milage is: distance travelled/number of gallons that his tank holds. So if he used up n gallons, then
we have: m/n= miles per gallons that his truck does. The $84 cost doesn't help us because we don't know how many gallons can his tank hold. If we knew, then we just divide $84/number of gallons. That would give us the cost of gas per gallons, and therfore would kmow how poor milage was his truck doing.
