After the numerator and denominator are consolidated to one term, I would                             [ Select ]                          ["flip", "switch", "keep", "get jiggy with", "ignore"]            the numerator,                             [ Select ]                          ["distribute the negative", "change the division to multiplication", "change multiplication to division", "give up on the problem", "factor a GCF"]            , and                            [ Select ]                          ["keep", "slap", "flip", "bring flowers to", "cancel"]            the denominator.

x/2 + 3/2  =       [ x + 3 ] /2

 

3/x - 2/x =      1 / x

 

So

 

( [ x + 3 ] / 2  ) /  [ 1 / x ] =

 

 

[x + 3 ] / 2 *     x / 1    =

 

 

[ x ( x + 3)]   / 2  =

 

 

[ x^2 + 3x ] / 2

Keep the numerator

 

Change the division to multiplication

 

Flip the denominator
