2x + xy = xz + 3 Solve for x

Solve for x:
2 x+x y = 3+x z

Collect in terms of x:
x (y+2) = 3+x z

Subtract x z from both sides:
x (2+y-z) = 3

Divide both sides by 2+y-z:
Answer: |x = 3/(2+y-z)

1/x + 1/2 = y Solve for x

Solve for x:
1/2+1/x = y

Bring 1/2+1/x together using the common denominator 2 x:
(x+2)/(2 x) = y

Multiply both sides by 2 x:
x+2 = 2 x y

Subtract 2+2 x y from both sides:
x (1-2 y) = -2

Divide both sides by 1-2 y:
Answer: |x = -2/(1-2 y)

2x + xy = xz + 3

2x + xy - xz = 3

x (2 + y - z) = 3

x = 3/(2 + y - z)

Same answer as Guest #1

1/x + 1/2 = y

1/x = y - 1/2 = (2y-1)/2

x = 2/(2y - 1)

Guest #1 did not simplify that fraction.......
