If y = x/(x^2 + 2x + 1)  and x is any real number, then what is the sum of the maximum and minimum possible values of y?

There actually is no minmum for y.

The range for y is \(f\left(x\right)\le \frac{1}{4}\) as there is no limits to how small it can be.

There is a maximum of 1/4, as the max point is

\(\left(1,\:\frac{1}{4}\right)\)

Thanks! :)
