when you have an equation and you want to move a number does the number change its sing

like if I have 7x − 19y = 10 and I want to move -19y to the left so it could be the first number, do I make it positive since it is positive or do I change the sing of the number that we move which is 7x so it would be -7x?

yes, if you move the -19y the the other side, it is like adding 19y to both sides, so the sign would change to cancel things.

then you would have the equation 7x=10+19y.
