When the expression -2x^2 - 20x - 53 + 14x + 17 is written in the form a(x + d)^2 + e, where a, d, and e are constants, then what is the sum a + d + e?

= -2x^2 -6x - 36

 -2 ( x^2+3x )    - 36

= -2 ( x + 1.5)2  - 36  + 4.5

= -2(x +1.5)2 - 31.5      <===== finish from here
