Hi Kassidy,

If you rearrange the first equation you get
2x+y=7
the second equation is
2x+y=10

2x+y can't equal both 7 and 10 at the same time so there are no solutions.

Simultaneous equations can be solved algebraically or graphically
To solve them graphically you graph the two functions and the simultaneous solution is where they cross over (intersect).
If you graph these two equations, you will find that they are parallel lines and hence they won't intersect. (They both have a gradient of -2)
