Firstly when you put fractions in here it is a good idea to use brackets so that the meaning is very clear.
When you write them at home make sure you write them upright. It is infinitely easier to see what your are doing.
(1/4)x+5/12=(3/4)x
The easiest thing to do first is to multiply both sides by the lowest common denominator. That is 12 here.
That will get rid oaf all the fractions in one fell swoop and then it should be easy. I hope.

3x + 5 = 9x
