Determine all of the following for f(x) \cdot g(x), where f(x) = -7x^4-3x^2 + 2 and g(x) = 2x^8 - 3x^7 + 5x^6 + 3x^5 - 11x^4 + 3x^3 - 18x^2 + 17x - 5.

To find the leading term you multiply the leading term of the functions. (-7x^4)(2x^8)=(-7)(2)(x^4)(x^8)=-14x^12

Leading term:-14x^12

The leading coefficient is -14 since that is the coefficient of the leading term

Leading coefficient: -14

Degree:12

To get the constant term you multiply -5 and 2 because they are the 2 constants

Constant term: -10

To find the coefficient of x^6 we multiply

(-7x^4)(18x^2)=-126x^6

(-3x^2)(-11x^4)=33x^6

(2)(5x^6)=10x^6

-126+33+10=-83

Coefficient of x^6: -83
