(x + 4)^2  = x^2 + (x + 2)^2 -  4x^3

x^2 + 8x + 16 =  x^2 + x^2 + 4x + 4  - 4x^3

4x^3  - x^2  + 4x + 12 = 0

The Rational Zeroes Theorem won't help us here, so a graph seems to be the way to go

Only one real solution  x ≈  -1.15
