First, move everything to the left side.

$$x^2+10x+7=0$$

use the binomial theorem to get $$x=-5+3√2, x=-5-3√2$$

$$x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}$$     to find x =  -5 +-  3sqrt 2     Pick the smaller one................
