OK, you have two equations.

A. Liddell is x and Lewis Carroll is y.

When you add the ages of x+y, you get 46.

x+y=46

You also know that Lewis Carroll is 20 years older than Alice. So x+20 is Lewis' age.

Now, rewriting the x+y equation with the new information.

x+(x+20)=46 and solving for x

2x+20=46

2x=26

x=13
