What is the amplitude of the function graphed?

Graph of a sinusoidal curve. The horizontal axis ranges from negative 5 to 5 in increments of 1. The vertical axis ranges from negative 3 to 7 in increments of 1. The curve passes through a maximum at begin ordered pair negative 5 comma 6 end ordered pair, a minimum at begin ordered pair negative 3 comma negative 2 ordered pair, a maximum at begin ordered pair negative 1 comma 6 end ordered pair, a minimum at begin ordered pair 1 comma negative 2 end ordered pair, a maximum at begin ordered pair 3 comma 6 end ordered pair and a minimum at begin ordered pair 5 comma negative 2 end ordered pair.

We can find the amplitude  by finding the difference between the max value on the graph and the min  value on the graph and dividing this difference by 2

Max  value   = 6

Min value  = -2

So

[ (6)  -  (-2)  ]  / 2   =   [ 8 ]  / 2   = 4  = the amplitude
