How high above the ground is the kite? The angle elevation is 76° and the hypotenuse is 96.0 m. So confused! Need help fast!
hypotenuse is the longest side on a triangle.
so the angle is 76 and the side(hypotenuse) is 96.0m. you are missing some other values.
you know the other angle is 14 by the pythagreon theorem (180 - (76 + 90) = 14). knowing that you can set up the equation cos14 = x/96 (hopefully you have learned to use cosines) which can also be written as 96cos14 = x by multiplying each side by 96. by typing that into your calculator you get 13.13 meters.
No I am not missing values, thats the question. The awnser is 93.14 but I dont have it written down how I got there and I dont remember how. I used sin to solve it though. What I have written down is: H over O (sin) and then x over 96.0 = 93.14. Its grade 10 math (studying for the exam)
Thank You cPhill! Your a genius! (or atleast smarter than me haha)
