We have the points on the graph  (1,0)  and (-1.2)

The slope  of  this line  =   [2 - 0] / [ -1 -1]  =  2/-2  =-1

 

So   the equation of the line is

 

y  = -(x -1)

 

y  = -x + 1

 

x + y   = 1

 

So  we either have

 

x + y    ≤  1     (1)         or       x  +  y   ≥  1   (2)

 

Note that  (0,0)  is in the shaded area....this satisfies  (1)

 

So....the inequality is

 

x + y    ≤  1
