Application- Systems of Equations
Ryan buys 2 apples and 3 bananas for$3.00.Reid buys 4 apples and 8 bananas for $7 from the same store.How much would it cost to buy 3 bananas and 3 apples?
That is all the information they gave me and it is really hard so i don't really knoow how to do it.

You need more information ... like the price of the 4 apples 8 bananas.....o/w all you can say is 3 bananas and 3 apples will cost more than $3.00

2a + 3b =3.00
and
4a + 8b = 7.00
Solve the first equation for 'a' then substitute this into the second equation....
a=(1/2)(3.00 - 3b)
4(1/2)(3.00-3b) + 8b=7.00
3.00-3b+8b=7
5b = 4
b=4/5 (price of banana)
2a + 3(4/5) = 3.00
2a + 12/5 =3.00
2a=3.00 - 12/5 = .6
a=.3 Bananas cost 80 cents apples cost 30 cents
3 banans and 3 apples would be $3.30
