So my problem is with the area of circles. The diameter is 6 so the radius is 3. I'm pretty sure the way to find the area of a circle is pi(radius)squared.

Well, lets do a different one.
If the diametre was 10cm then the radius would be 5cm
Area = pi x r 2
Area = pi x 5 2
Area = pi x 25
area = 78.5cm 2 (correct to 1 decimal place or correct to 3 significant figures.)
