square root of 18 times the square root of 24

and then once you find that area, what if the L and W were cut in half, what would the new area be

sqrt (18)  = sqrt (9 * 2)  =  sqrt 9  * sqrt 2  =  3 sqrt(2)

sqrt (24) =  sqrt (4 * 6)  =  sqrt 4 * sqrt 6   =  2sqrt(6)

Total area  = [ 3 sqrt (2) ] * [ 2 sqrt (6) ]  =  [ 6 *sqrt (2) * sqrt (6) ] = 6 sqrt (12)  =

6 sqrt ( 4 * 3)  =   6  * sqrt (4) * sqrt (3)  =  6 * 2 * sqrt (3)  =   12 sqrt (3) units^2

If we cut the length and width in half......the new area would be

(1/2) * 3 * sqrt(2)  *  (1/2) * 2 * sqrt (6)  =

(3/2) * sqrt (2) * sqrt (6)  =

(3/2) sqrt (12)  =

1.5 sqrt (4) * sqrt (3)  =

1.5 * 2 * sqrt (3)  =

3 sqrt (3)  units^2

cool cool cool
