Not sure what ya got goin' there.....can yo clarify that a bit?

IF its a 9 x 9ft    that equals   9 x 9 = 81 sq ft

IF the other one is a 6 x 9  that equals  6 x 9    =   ?    sq ft

OK?

We still need a diagram or description of the triangle....is it a RIGHT triangle?  Isosceles?   The square is   9x9 = 81 sq ft

If it is a RIGHT triangle, AND those are the LEG measurements (not the longest side-the hypoteneuse)   then the area = 1/2 ( L x H) = 1/2 (9 x 6) = 27 sq ft  (sometimes written as ft^2)
