For the first one if you are looking for situations that require arithmatic well I can kick you off with a few Idea's one persay maybe a certain percentage of your income taken away after you get paid for two weeks you could say (because this does happen) The goverment takes 20% of your income every week, This also works with bonun'es in cash I know in new york they take a good percentage of your bonus.

If I work and get $7/hour, then for every working hours, my balance forms an arithmetic sequence.

Let's say my original balance is $\(b_0\), and my balance after n hours of working is $\(b_n\), then the recursive formula is \(b_n = b_{n-1} + 7\) and the explicit formula is \(b_n = b_0 + 7n\).
