The area of ABCD  =  AB *  BC      .... so...

 

140  = 14 * BC     divide both sides by 14

 

10  = BC  = height of ABE

 

So....area of ABE  =   

 

(1/2) AB * BC  =  (1/2) 140  =   70  in^2
