At what point does the graph of 5x + 4y = 12 intersect the y-axis?

Your equation represents a line, and where a line intercepts the y axis (if it does), x =0.

So, letting x =0 in your equation, we have

4y = 12   

So...... y = 3

And there's the point of intersection with the y axis.......(0,3)
