Alan is standing 100 m due east of a landmark. Benny is standing 250 m due south of
the landmark. What is the bearing, correct to the nearest tenth of a degree, of:
a Benny from Alan b Alan from Benny?

Working/Explanation would be appreciated. Thank you

Draw the triangle

put theta in the bottom angle - that is where Benny is.

\(tan\theta=\frac{100}{250}=0.4\\ tan^{-1}0.4=21^\circ48' \\~\\ So\;\; Alan \;\;is \;\;N\;\;21^\circ48' \;\; E\;\;of \;\;Benny\\~\\ Benny \;\;is \;\;S\;\;21^\circ48' \;\; W\;\;of \;\;Alan\\~\\ \)

Try an draw the pic yourself and if you cannot work it out ask again.
