104e^(-1,5r)  = 88.604     divide both sides by 104

 

e^(-1.5r)  = 88.604/104      take the ln of both sides

 

ln e^(-1.5r) = ln (88.604/104)    and we can write

 

(-1.5r)lne  = ln(88.604/104)     and ln e = 1  so we can ignore this

 

(-1.5r)  = ln(88.604/104)     divide both sides by -1.5

 

r = ln(88.604/104)/( -1.5)  ≈  0 .106809
