Hey everyone.

I was doing a problem ( 12 sin45 = 8.485281374244 )

This is fine, but I was told the right answer was  6*sqrt2 , which does equal the same number.

How do you change the first answer to be like the second? Its too long of an number to even know where to start!

sin(45°) can be written as 1/sqrt(2), which, in turn, is the same as  sqrt(2)/2, so 12*sin(45°) is 12*sqrt(2)/6 or 6*sqrt(2).

thanks for the reply.

So if  sin(45°)  is  sqrt(2)/2

How is  12*sin(45°)  =  12*sqrt(2)/6

Should it not be  12*sqrt(2)/2 ?
