Calculus

Can someone please explain to me the purpose of calculus? Much appreciated.

 

Calculus is very diverse but it is related to instantaneous rates of change.

So you can use it for speed, gradients of tangents, finding the areas of irregular (as well as regular) regions and much more.

I am being vague, if you want a 'proper' answer you are better off to google it.

 

It is used in  economistic, engineering , and in other areas.

 

If you enjoy mathematics and are reasonabley good at it you will LOVE calculus!
