sqrt (2x-4) = 1 + sqrt(x+5)      square both sides

2x-4  = 1 + x + 5 + 2 sqrt(x+5)     simplify

x -10 = 2 sqrt (x+5)          square both sides

x^2 -20x+ 100 = 4x + 20      simplify

x^2 -24x+80 = 0          Factor ( or use quadratic formula)

(x-20)(x-4) = 0              x = 4   or 20
