In a certain country, the probability that a baby that is born is a boy is 0.52 and the probability that a baby that is born is a girl is 0.48. A family has two children. If X is the number of girls born to a family, find the probability that the family has 0, 1, or 2 girls.
Create the binomial distribution table for P (X).
You put this as the answer but on P(1 girl ) = 2C1 * (.52)(.48) ≈ .50, there's a C between the 2 and 1, what does that mean?
P(0 girls) = (.52)^2 ≈ .27
P(1 girl ) = 2C1 * (.52)(.48) ≈ .50
P(2 girls) = (.48)^2 ≈ .23
Thanks so much!
