A)   x +  3 ( x +7)  =  9

B )    x + 3x +  21   = 9

          4x   +  21    =  9

           4x   =    9  - 21

           4x  =  -12

             x =  -12  /  4   =   -3

C )    y  = -3 + 7  =  4

D )   ( x , y)    =   (  -3 , 4)
