-4x  - 15 y  =   - 17

4x +   5y  =  -13                add these

A)   -10y  =  -30

B)     divide  both sides  by   -10

          y =  -30  / -10     =    3

C)   4x   + 5(3) =  -13

D)   4x + 5(3)   = -13

        4x   + 15 =  -13

        4x    = -13  -15

        4x =  -28

           x =   -28 / 4 =   -7

E)   ( -7, 3)
