a) Let son's age be x.

 

b) Let Mr. Rob's age be 3x.

 

c) Hence, 

          x + 3x = 64 

           4x       = 64

             x       = 16

 

d) Son's age is 16 years.

 

e) Mr Rob's age = 3 *16

                           = 48 years
