The quadratic $x^2-3x+1$ can be written in the form $(x+b)^2+c$, where $b$ and $c$ are constants. What is $b+c$?

thanks!

x -3x+1      'complete the square'   by taking 1/2 of  -3

(x-1.5)2   -2.25 +1

(x-1.5)2 - 1.25                   Take it from here.....
