The coast-down time y for a car as it drops 10mph from am initail speed x depends on sevral factors, such as avarge drag, tire pressure, and whether the transmission is in nutral. The following gives coast-down time in seconds for a car under standard conditions for selected speeds.

Intital speed          coast-down time                initial speed              coast-down time

(in mph)                   (in seconds)                   (in mph)                      (in seconds)

30                                 29                              50                                16

35                                 27                              55                                16

40                                 24                              60                                14

45                                 21                              65                                12

Use a quadratic regression feature of graphing caculator to find the quadratic function g that best fits the data.

Form your answer in g(x)=__x^2-__x+__.

Round to four decimal places.

OK this math problem has more to it im sitting hear with the program open that my teacher gave me he wants the problem for this problem to end like this now this ones diffrent then the one from before.

g(x)=0.0055x^2-1.0274x+55.6012 when I asked him how he got this he gave me a graph witch didn't help at all.

Then he gave me this wicth made less sence

g(70)=.0055(70)^2-1.0274(70)+55.6012=11 when I saw this I had no idea of how this kind of math works he told me this is like two plus two and that if I try the quadratic regression feature of are TI-84 calculators ???
