[y + 2 ] = -(7/4) (5)

y + 2 = - 35/4

y =  -35/4 - 2

y = -43/4

First, we us points A and B to find the slope. 

Finding the slope, we have \(5-(-2)\over{-3-1 } \) which is equal to \(-{7\over4}\)

Then, applying the point slope formula, we get \(y-1=-{7\over4}(6+2)\).

Simplifying we get \(y=-13\)

Therefore, y = -13.
