I'm really confused as to how they got 3.16? I don't this equation loads of times and I've always ended up with 3.10, can someone please explain this to me?
It is just simple multiplication and division !
[3.10 x 1] / 98.09 =0.0316036........etc. Then this is written in scientific notation as follows:
3.16 x 10^-2 - and that is it. Notice that the power of 10 is - 2, because you are moving the decimal point 2 places to the right, hence 10^ -2.
