CHS

3(x-4) + 6 = 5(x-1)    simplify

3x - 12 + 6 =  5x  - 5

3x - 6  = 5x - 5        subtract 5x from both sides, add 6 to both sides

-2x  = 1                   divide both sides by -2

x = -1/2
