A combination lock like the one shown has three dials. Each of the dials has numbers ranging from 0 to 4. How many different combinations are possible with the lock? Please show all work

I don't see any combination lock!!. But, if repeats are allowed, then each dial has: 4^4 combinations. Since you have 3 dials, then: (4^4)^3=4^12=16,777,216 combinations possible

I don't see diagram, either....but each dial has 5 possible settings  [ if we allow for repeats]....so....

 

5 * 5 * 5   = 5^3   = 125 possible combinations
