Complete the square x^2 + 12x + 9 Enter your answer in the form a(x + u)^2 + v, where a, u, and v are replaced by numbers.

half of 12 is 6 and so a part of this will be (x+6)

The 'a' will just be 1 since 1 is the coefficient of x^2

So it is going to be (x+6)^2 + v

I will leave you to work out what v is.

Hint: Do the expansion.
