The ages of three sisters are consecutive odd integers. The sum of the youngest and oldest sister is twelve less than six times the middle sister. how old is each sister?

Let the ages   =   x , x + 2  and x + 4

And we know that

x + [ x + 4 ] + 12  = 6[ x + 2]     simplify

2x + 16  = 6x + 12         subtract 2x, 12 from each side

4  = 4x     divide both sides by 4

1 = x      this si the youngest sister's age

And the other two are 3 and 5, respectively
