How do you use the converse of the Pythagorean Theorem to determine the type of angle?

Hi yusername :)

he Pythagorean theorem is only for finding the sides of right angled triangles.

If you want to find the angles in a right angled triangle you use basic trigonometry :)

I had a thought.

If you have a triangle ABC with the opposite sides a,b,c then

<B will be obtuse if  b^2  >  a^2+b^2

<B will be right angles if  b^2  =  a^2+b^2

<B will be acute if  b^2  <  a^2+b^2

Thank you Melody, that makes a lot more sense.
