r= 5sin 0

r = 5 [ y/r ]     multiply both sides by r

r^2  = 5y

x^2 + y^2 =  5y

x^2 + y^2 - 5y  = 0    if we wish, we can put this in standard form by completing the sqaure on y

x^2 + (y - 5/2)^2 = 25/4

r= sin 0+ cos 0

r = y/r + x/r     multiply through by r

r^2 = y + x

x^2 + y^2  = y + x

x^2 - x + y^2 - y = 0          complete the square on x  and y

(x - 1/2)^2  + (y - 1/2)^2 =  1/2

Thanks Chris,

I am not entirely comfortable with questions like this so it was really good for me to work through your answer :))
