What is the area, in square units, of a triangle whose vertices are at (4,-1), (10,3) and (-4,5)?
I don't see a real easy way of doing this....
you could use the distance formula 3 times to get the 3 side lengths and then use Heron's formula to calculate the area ...
Or you could calculate the entire rectangle (shown beow) and subtract the 3 right triangles from the area (actually, that would be fairly easy)
