The center of a circle has coordinates (6, -5). The circle is reflected about the line y = 1.What are the x, y coordinates of the center of the image circle? State the x coordinate first.

Since the question is just asking about the center, ignore the fact that it's a circle. You won't need it.

So you're essentially reflecting the point (6,-5) over the line y=1.

(1-(-5))=6. (difference of y values (-5 and 1))

So the point is 6 units from the line. You just need to move the point (6*2)=12 units up. (The *2 comes from the reflection.)

So it becomes (6,-5+12)=$\boxed{(6,7)}$.
