The points (2,3) and (3,2) lie on a circle whose center is on the x-axis. What is the radius of the circle?

The center will be   x,0

the didttance from the center to the points is equal

use ditance formula for each point and equate them

(x-2)^2 + 3^2   = (x-3)^2 + 2^2

   -4x = -6x      x must = 0

center is at  0, 0

   calculate the distance to either of the points to find the radius

      3^2 + 2^2 = r^2

          13 = r^2                    then   r = sqrt (13)
