hey...

when i want to sub value x=2 into y=-x^2, which of these would i press into my calculator:

y=-2*(-2)^2

y=-2*(-2^2)?

Or, are these methods incorrect and do I need another one?

if sub=substitute, then use y=(-(2))^2

Hm are you sure about that?
I would have said that, if the equation had been y = (-x)^2.
As it is y = -x^2, i would guess what is meant is - (x^2).
