When do we use cotangent? How about cot-1?

The cotangent of an angle is the ratio of its adjacent side to its opposite side.

The cotangent inverse.....denoted as cot-1 or arccot  or acot.....returns an angle that has a paticular ratio of its adjacent side to its opposite side
